This is something that desperately needs to happen. Seeing the Met Police provide security for a parade where people were waving Hezbollah and Hamas flags in support of the "political wing" of those organizations was horrifying. The distinction between Hezbollah's political and paramilitary wings is an artificial one created by European governments. Not even Hezbollah themselves recognize such a distinction.

Also Hezbollah related:

Obama refused to investigate Venezuela's connections in money laundering for Hezbollah per Madrid newspaper, ABC in an article from yesterday

English summary
https://panampost.com/sabrina-martin/2017/07/11/venezuelas-ties-to-hezbollah/

This was to get the Iran nuclear deal to go through without distraction and also ties to opening Cuba.

So he was deliberately soft on Maduro so as not to upset Castro. And Hezbollah Ties not investigated. I am sure Rubio and others will harp about this.

Naturally this falls into the hands of the anti-Castro Cubans. I am more concerned that cutting off travel and other negative impacts on civilians in Cuba. Sadly that this kind of typical gamesmanship probably helped Maduro further clamp down on rights in Cuba and if we passed up opportunities to see if there were financial ties to Hezbollah that was a blatant missed opportunity. It reeks of the rushed optimism of Kerry's time with the State Department.

Ironic given how Hezbollah rarely is mentioned here in these last 2-3 years.

Agreed.

I hope to God Corbyn stays quiet on the issue (since this is presumably one of those he's not good at).

Corbyn seems to understand that this is a subject he should avoid if he wants to be PM. He declined to participate in the Al Quds Day parade where he knew this would happen, despite being invited and having participated in the past.
