The idea that the most diverse, educated, urbanized, and queer generation in history was ever going to lean conservative was always ludicrous.

The thing that always bothered me is how hard-line GOP'ers always had issues with "colleges" and our "professors." Almost as if they wanted our electorate to stay uneducated and ignorant.
What kind of party would favor keeping the citizens of this nation away from higher education and diversity?
Such a party is sad indeed.
That's exactly it. They fear that if people learn what the Gilded Age was like, they'll vote for socialists. They fear that if people learn what Vietnam was like, they'll vote for anti-war candidates.
