Really don't see the problem. The Democratic Party is still overwhelmingly Christian in an overwhelmingly Christian country. Dem voters may be far less intense and even just loosely "Christian" compared to the Republican base, but that doesn't mean they're rabidly anti-religion and will crucify a Democratic politician for mere references that she is privately faithful, especially since Clinton doesn't go around using her faith as a political weapon to justify hate or gain points.
