Where have you flown this year?

Back and forth 3 times from Albany to Orange County, CA, two on business, and one for partner Dan's brother's wedding.

On my last flight I was next to a woman returning home to the Catskills from a visit to family on a farm in eastern MT. Her flights that day went Glasgow-Billings-Denver-Chicago-Albany with significant drives at both ends. Yet she managed it all on one day.

I suspect that she lives in that most benighted place called Greene County.

[Torie]

Nowhere. And that is grand. I hate airports and planes with a passion. Alas, come February, I am flying to Samoa with my partner Dan to visit his ancestors and kin. Boo!

Here is the map of the jaunt to Samoa. To there, Albany to Midway Airport in Chicago, then to Las Vegas, then to John Wayne airport in Orange County, CA. And then the next day a drive to LAX in Los Angeles, to Fiji, and then Samoa. Return is back through Fiji, to LAX, then Denver, and then Albany. With layovers, each way took about 24 hours, plus the hour's drive from Hudson to the Albany Airport each way. Ugh!

This year is my fear of flying year.

I hate them, and don't do them anymore.

[Torie]

I don't do planes or airports. I loathe them. The last flight of my life was the one to Samoa a few years ago. 

[Torie]

I have not told my partner yet, but I think my flying days are over. Losing the wonderlust drive is the second thing to go.
