It's possible he could, yes.  Folks could be so sick of Trump in 2020 that Bullock gets 350 EV with little effort.  But it's also possible that Trump's years of "Making America Great Again" will resonate with voters.  If, indeed, economic prosperity continues, and folks see things like real improvements underway in infrastructure, Trump may be transformed from a controversial lightning rod to a consensus leader, about whom it will be said, "I told you so!".

That's the one thing I believe; that the advent of Trump is going to break America out of its hyperpartisanship, with firmly established "red" and "blue" states.  It's not going to be 1972 all over again, but it's going to be less of what the last 20 years have been like.
