Malcolm Fraser, former Australian PM, any thoughts on the man. HP in my view.

*Puke* Serious HP. I'd have voted for him 3 times for lack of a better alternative but enthusiastically voted for Hawke in '83 (among other times).

Like Heath, propping up a corpse rather than creating the new economy. Thank God for BH/PK.

Agreed, possibly the only right wing party leader in history to manage to run to the left of a Labor Party.

I also have other reasons for loathing the man.

Kind of a Heath to Howard's Thatcher, no? Neutral.

Mixed. Certainly not a horrible person, but maybe a horrible politician. Our last PM with true honour, except that one time... which was a pretty disgusting situation. I'll wait til there are more votes, then vote for the minority position.

I voted FF. Fraser isn't a horrible person, but his time in office was pretty substandard and I don't like his actions before the Whitlam Dismissal. I think he's become an extreme version of Ted Heath. He's actually left the Liberal Party and continuously makes disparaging statements about various politicians in it (i.e. Tony Abbot and John Howard most frequently).

At the very least, he seems to have sticked with his political positions (e.g. multiculturalism) for decades and isn't afraid to speak his mind (like Keating, although Fraser's record is significantly weaker).

HP. He was equivalent of Ted Heath but on steroids.

This sums up my attitude rather well.

Both a FF and a HP at the same time.

Cons:

* Got rid of Whitlam
* ineffective PM

Pros:

* record since then has been good.
