With Trump no longer a viable candidate, the GOP establishment appears to be considering giving the nomination to Mike Pence.  This has some key advantages; namely, not having a sex offender on the top of the ticket.  On the other hand, Pence was never chosen by GOP primary voters.  Who could he pick as his running mate to satisfy the concerns of Trump's base?

Although what Trump said is horrible he is not a "sex offender", anyways he should honestly pick Cruz.

Pence should be dropped too. Give it to Kaisch, the man who never endorsed Trump and was always against him. Take the moral high ground not mini-me "I don't endorse it but support it behind the scenes".

Why should they get one? Isn't his VP selection good enough?

I think GOP would turn to appealing to the party as a whole and pick somebody that is more neutral.

Moot. Trump cannot be replaced on the ballot now. Early voting ballots have already gone out.

what is it with people not understanding its too late. Trump is too stubborn to drop out. He won't do it.

The GOP has made their bed. They have to lie in it.

The party does not have the power to do that.

I think it's too late.
Ballots have already been printed in many states, many people have already voted in early-voting and mail-in voting.
States legislatures, especially those controlled by the Dems, would probably not allow for exceptions or pass emergency bills to allow for changes.
It would be a nightmare mess to make name changes.

They might as well just nominate Hillary Clinton.

Trump won't (and quite possibly can't) drop out, but if by some miracle there was a way to make this happen, it practically has to be Haley.
