I would love to be able to say that the damage was caused by alt-right types who insinuated themselves into the protestors, to make the Protestors and BLM look bad.  But, I have no evidence of that.

Where there's smoke...

Infiltration and incitement of anti-establishment groups across the political spectrum by all tiers of law enforcement is common. Presuming that out-of-character acts of violence are incited or carried out by state actors should be the default assumption.

What, in the long run, should happen with Stone Mountain?



Blowing the relief off the mountain will likely draw comparisons to this:


On the other hand, the relief is nakedly a monument to the worst of the Confederacy, and openly a "sacred site" to the KKK. It opened in 1965 on the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's assassination.

And does it make any difference that when the then-proprietors took a dislike to the original work they'd commissioned (by white nationalist Rushmore sculptor Gutzon Borglum), they demo'd  in 1928?
