I suppose its that Perot had a fairly populist campaign.  Though Perot was far more a nativist than WMS is.

Raise taxes and cut spending to reduce deficit.  No free trade, or we'll get a "giant sucking sound".  Major reform of campaigns to battle corruption.

John Ford: also sounds reasonable, although Perot was more of a libertarian in many ways.
