Can a governor sponsor/introduce a bill? IMO, it can only be done by an assemblymember (but he can indicate that it's done on the governor's behalf).

Yes, it's in the Constitution

I have decided to vote against this bill, no matter what.  Badger makes a good point in noting that that all this bill does is making it infinitely harder for a woman to obtain an abortion, and I will not go along with that.

I'm against it at the moment, but for drastically different reasons. Promoting unsafe abortions is not the solutions to limiting and reduces abortions.

I think if we want a bill to help reduce abortions we should put something together where there's tax deductions for child care, medical care as well as discouraging pre-martial and especially young sex. Not sure how we'd do that but that is the root of the problem.

I could get behind a bill like that.

Also maybe pull in some Mitch Daniels ideas with really pounding fathers who leave the kid and mother and don't pay child support payments or help at all. This shouldn't be a one person job at all, especially in unfortunate situations with young people.

Let's start over... we'll come up with a new name and everything.  Did you have a bill in mind, or I could draft something...?

I just had those ideas to throw in the bill, but no bill in mind. If you could wrap all of what we've said together that would be good.

I'll bring up a vote to Table this bill then since we'll have a completly new one (same subject) soon.

Voting is now open to table "The Taxing Abortion Act". Voting will last for 24 or until every member has voted. (Just to speed up the process since we'll be coming back to this very soon). Please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.
