Let us suppose:

Biden declined to run this year, and Kamala either decided not to run or lost the primaries early as she did in 2020

1) Who would be the presumptive nominee given the current Democratic Party?

2) Of all Democrats who could have a realistic shot of being nominated by the DNC in 2024, which would actually have a stronger polling edge against Trump than Biden does?

It would probably be a Newsom-Polis-Whitmer showdown.

The class of Governors elected in 2022 would find it too early to jump into national politics.

None would have leads until after the convention when Americans become more familiar with them.

Newsom has been such a ridiculous stooge for PG&E.

Whitmer, Shapiro, Fetterman, Warnock, Kelly, Beshear, to name a few.

I forgot about Beshear and Warnock. The nominee in these hypotheticals would likely be whomever has the most appeal to black voters, and might give Warnock an edge.

No one, ever since the R primary the polls have been biased towards Trump and it's inflation tóo

Just like Rassy has Trump 10, there is an RH effect of  5 pts
