Is the lack of media coverage of the senator from Arizona good or bad for John McCain? Are his mis-steps not being covered enough? Does it benefit Obama to be the most covered candidate according to this poll?

This is good news for McCain.  If 51% of the people are hearing most about Obama and only 8% about McCain, but McCain is only behind Obama 47-44 then he's doing fine right now.

Most of the media coverage on Obama has been negative for the past two months, so it's pretty amazing that he's still tied or ahead of McCain in most polls.

The youth vote.  They don't watch CNN, but they see a lot of positive Obama stuff on the internet.  That helps.  Plus, at least 40% of the country will never vote Republican anyway guaranteed (same could be said about the Democrats, too) so basically we are only dealing with a 7% to 4% with 9% Undecided/Other here.
