Very sad. Apparently she had been in ill health for a while.

RIP to a legend.

Forever immortalised in Australian history when she appeared in Mad Max 3 and became the face of Australian Rugby League in the 1990's. I saw her live in concert after the 1993 Adelaide F1 Grand Prix when Ayrton Senna won his last ever race. Tina invited Ayrton up on stage and gave him a huge celebration.

Tina was the half time entertainment at the 1993 Rugby League Grand Final in Sydney.

Thought I'd share my personal favorite Tina Turner song.

RIP FF.

I actually didn't realize she was already 83, I thought early or mid 70s and that she was living in Switzerland. Feels like the music legends are dying off with barely new moving in their place.

Very sad news.  She had incredible energy and passion.

Interestingly, there's a highly provocative variation on "Simply The Best" which celebrates the Protestant paramilitary side of the Troubles (the Northern Ireland conflict):

She is getting all the praise she deserves, but I want more respect to be paid to "We Don't Need Another Hero." Hell, 'Beyond Thunderdome' is kind of underrated in general.

RIP.

I've developed very negative opinions of the vast majority of entertainers, actors, and celebrities over the past decade, but Tina Turner was a giant of music.
