If the Dems lose the Senate by one seat, let it rest at the feet of Rick Weiland and Tom Daschle.

Herseth-Sandlin would have probably been winning easily at this point, with a Pressler that everyone had ignored taking about 5-10% of the old Republican vote who remember him fondly and don't realize he's become a left-wing Democrat since he left the Senate and a Mike Rounds mired in scandal. Sad

Pressler never had (and still doesn't have) an actual functioning, funded campaign. He was just coasting on name recognition. Weiland dropping out for him would have been a joke.
