Looks like the count has been stuck at 68% counted for a while.  What is the holdup ?

To be honest I am surprised that they are counting so fast with such big amount of votes. In Poland we would have now maybe first conference of Electoral Commision and maybe no partial results still.

But back in 2014 in the second round of the Prez race when the quarantine was lifted (also at 6pm EST if I recall)  it was 90% of the vote counted.  If anything they slowed down this year from 2014.

72% of the vote counted and Haddad is almost at 27% as the results converges toward the exit polls. Bolsonaro down to 48.12%

The PT might well bungle this one, goddamn it. Will enough of Ciro's voters be willing to vote for Haddad in order to stop Bolsonaro in the runoff?

Cabo Daciolo, a former firefighter who broke into the campaign in the debates before appearing in polls and later announced that he was heading into the mountains to fast and hide from possible assassination attempts, has more votes than Marina Silva, according to the results.

Ciro will, IMO and with all likelihood, endorse Haddad. The problem is if that's enough. If Bolsonaro is able to hold on to his voters, because that's also a huge doubt, add around 1-1.5% from other smaller candidates like Daciolo, and add around 30% of Alckimin voters, i believe he would win with around 51% of the votes in the second round.

So far, the main surprises in polls for senators favored market-friendly names.  Just because of that there will most likely be a very large rally in Brazilian assets on Monday.

Jair Bolsonaro's son, Eduardo, to be elected to Congress with at least 1.6 million votes, the most a federal deputy candidate has ever received

What a way to end her political campaign, Marina is politically dead. Alckmin is also politically dead.

Do not forget Dilma to add to the list of causalities.

This is a sad day for Brazilian democracy, and will be a sadder one if Bolsonaro wins it in the runoff.

I doubt there are any question marks and victory of Bolsonaro is almost sure. Haddad is very weak candidate and I doubt that before the second round he will be able to in any way tackle Bolsonaro support in middle class groups. Maybe he will try with some postulates more appealing to better earning Brazilians but I doubt that he will be perceived by them as credible.

Looks like 2014 PSDB Prez candidate Neves reportedly got enough votes to win a term as deputy lawmaker for Minas Gerais.

Bolsonaro is probably going to be over 46%, even outperforming the (accurate) exit poll. What a result. It keeps getting better after Pechtold's resignation and Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Ciro Gomes speaks to press, says he is very grateful. Laughs when asked about support for runoff.   He will get around to endorsing Haddad eventually.
