It certainly doesn't suprise me. Sweden too is expensive and young Scandinavians are taking advantage of cheap flights and sailings to go on shopping trips to Scotland. Glasgow in the summer is full of them buying things like CD's and clothes and most interestingly, getting a relatively cheap drink in the bars and pubs Smiley

Most things in Norway are expensive. This is mainly because the average wage in Norway is considerably higher than in other western countries. I wouldn't be surprised if London came out on top once you calculate "expensive" in terms of average income vs. general cost of living.

Thailand is absolutely full of Scandinavians.  They're all so rich here it is quite comical.  They certainly make Americans look like poors.
