He'd probably lose badly, but a 2% chance of winning is better than the 0.1% TN Dems would have otherwise.

Although TN doesn't really seem like the right kind of state to take advantage of a Trump backlash in. At least in somewhere like TX it's possible to imagine Dems winning solely through high base turnout with low Republican turnout. In TN, you'd have to win over some Trump supporters to get to 50%.
