Humanity has certain qualities that has allowed it to dominate much of the planet...though the ocean is still profoundly inhospitable to human life, as is the underground without extensive work.

Whether that indicates "superiority" is a judgement I don't feel qualified to make.  After all, humanity didn't always exist and it won't always exist, and the owner of the planet ten million years from now might wonder at how maladjusted these weird bipedals with the giant skulls were for ruling the planet.  They don't even have gills!

Can animals metacommunicate?

Anyway, the question is moronic. Whatever human beings are, they are and whatever animals are, they are. Higher and lower are pretty meaningless here.

Although humans are biologically animals, they are absolutely higher life forms than any other member of the animal kingdom.

To those who object: When is the last time you saw an animal drive a car or watch TV?

When did you last communicate by sonar.

Watching tv is the activity of a higher life form?  I'd of thought at least inventing the tv would need to be invoked.  But anybody's pet can look at the television. Smiley

Anyway, what Mikado and Andrew said.

Or carried something ten times your weight for the equivalent of many miles without resting?

Or hunted by detecting the electrical fields generated by the movement of your prey?
