I never knew about Galloway (other than him being Respect leader) until I read this and well... he seems more peculiar than any Canadian office holder I can think of. Yeah, he's a definite HP, but I kind of wish Canadian immigrants could be riled up for left-wing causes as much as those in Bradford West
After reading his wikipedia article and the Bradford West by-election article, I don't think he holds any concrete religious beliefs but identifies with muslim communities in a socio-political sense and he is able to immerse himself well enough for some muslims to see him as a fighter for their community.
