My boss for my part-time research gig called something I submitted to him "truly great", "incredibly thorough and meticulously researched," so at least I can get fulfillment at one of my jobs (now if only I got paid...).

Is it bad to drink Bell's Two Hearted before noon?

Glad to see you supporting Michigan!

My bottle labeled 2% turned out to be skim. Terrible.

I just found out the girl I've been crushing on for over a year got engaged yesterday. I didn't even know she was in a relationship. Sad

My girlfriend got me a print subscription to Jacobin Magazine for my birthday!

This a different one that cut and run a few months ago?

My debit card shows a $42.00 deduction, ostensibly going to The Economist. I did not do this and am incensed. I have no reason to believe my subscription has changed, either.

Instead of working on Russian homework due tomorrow, I'm completely rehashing a research proposal project that I first began work on in September. This project is a bit more grandiose, but it's what I want to do and can much more easily match the submission requirements. While attempting to complete homework on my prior project, I realized I had absolutely no desire to continue it.

In other news, my graduation paper is pure buffalo-f[inks]ing, and I have to start from scratch and write 5 pages over the next week because I went in a totally different direction than I was supposed to.

I was gonna go with the role of the Vice President, but I spent eight pages going off on a tangent about each Vice President's role (up to Fairbanks, at this point).

Yikes.

It seems that I forgot to mention in the chaos, but I had to move back home.

I'm sorry to hear that. What happened with your trade gig?

Me too. It really lived up to its name when I saw it categorized as neo-noir. I love futuristic dystopian movies like that. It was just a bit long, although that wouldn't have been a big problem if I wasn't sleep-deprived.

I had to go to the bathroom the entire time I was in the theater. Tongue

I have mixed feelings on the original, as my instincts are to loyally stand by the original product, but it never really captured me. That said, I knew I would be seeing the sequel. The score was very reminiscent of Insterstellar, which makes sense, since Hans Zimmer was responsible for both. That said, it still fit very well, and I enjoyed both films for a lot of the same reasons--despair cloaked in grandeur, the terror of the future, existential questions. I've been meaning to meet up with my film prof from last year, and this will likely make good conversation fodder.
