On the plane I just saw:
1) The Magic of Belle Isle
2) Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,
and well over half of
3) Rock of Ages

What a funny lineup it was too, and I enjoyed every bit of it.  I was very sleep deprived though.

What's the reason?

Unis over here have loads of really pointless junckets to get rid of the budget before the new fiscal year hits.. they're mostly swimming in money, and they fear if they don't spend it all, they'll not get a fat increase for the next year. This year alone there were junckets to the UK, France, Korea, China.. its outrageous.

Children of Invention - wonderfully bleak!  So bleak it included MLM, so about as bleak as anything I've seen.

Spaceballs.  I'd never seen it, and it had me guffawing.  A real pleasure.  They've been doing a John Candy retrospective on the satellite.

Hah, I just watched the seventh seal, if that beats that then I am depressed

I'm embarrassed to admit I've never viewed The Seventh Seal, and I also admit it sounds bleak - however, it does not encompass the ultimate in human despair - MLM.

I just watched Red Dust last night on the sattelite.  Wow, it was great - pre-censorship (1932) - very sexual, and Harlow played a clear prostitute:

Woman of Straw, quite good.  I like the bitter old man in it.

Gal Young 'Un, a wonderful little low budget movie from 1979 directed by Victor Nunez.. set in the 1920s.  Anyone heard of it? Its rather obscure.. pops up on the Sundance channel.
