Go McCaskill!

But seriously, how do you guys think McCaskill would perform in the primaries and/or general election?

She's unlikely to win re-election as of right now, so I imagine that would put a damper on any run she attempts.

Red-baiting McCaskill should go down next year.

She's an outspoken SJW-style liberal who has a penchant for making inflammatory remarks, she's not winning a general election or coming even close to it.

She won twice in Missouri. Even if she does lose she would probably overperform in Missouri relative to a generic Democrat. She is not unelectable.

The state wasn't very Republican in 2006 and 2012, she ran against two godawful opponents and in two massive Democratic wave years. I know you like her, but we'll see how much she "overperforms" in Missouri in 2018.

If you want a red state Democrat to run against Trump, I'd say Heitkamp is by far the best candidate. She's popular, charismatic and a great campaigner.

I think most supporters of Bernie Sanders would probably regard McCaskill as another establishment candidate who wouldn't be a good fit in a populist era.
