And so once again Wisconsin gives a very liberal result in a special election.

Presidential Trumpist turnout is intense!

And Vos said with Underly winning and unions controlling education they will not increase funding to the DPI. Robins little temper tantrums show the need for removal of gerrymandering.

Franklin is the director of the Marquette Law School poll, so he’s a pretty good source for WI politics.

Republicans really bombed in SD-13,  only winning by ~7% or so in a district Trump carried by 19%

Looks like GOP has a turnout problem right now... who couldve thunk.

Of course this could totally not be indicative of anything. But will be interesting to see in the post-Trump era.
SD-13 had a Trump conservatives third party challenge, so that split up the GOP vote a bit. Don’t read too much into this race.

Welp, that settles it, Wisconsin is a solid blue state now, unless UTMG is the Republican nominee.

Yes, I was agreeing with him: we have entered a new national party system that is similar to what Minnesota has been for decades, in which turnout and polarization are consistently very high.

Even accounting for that it's still only R+12, an underperformance of Trump by 7 points.

I'd worry a bit if I'm Johnson about turnout in the western part of the state, especially if he can't get the margins he's used to in the WOW counties.

He has been a oddball in Wisconsin politics, in that he is a Conservative, but one opposed to semi-authoritarian power grabs in the name of partisanship.

Some major paper did an interview him and he actually came across as quite fair and thoughtful. He was asked at the end how he voted and he kind of snarkily replied that he received his ballot in the mail, filled it out and returned it in the mail. When asked if he would reveal who he voted for he stated that he considered it inappropriate to publicly that discuss in his position.

Annette Ziegler will become the new Chief Justice of Wisconsin effective May 1 after Patience Roggensack declined to seek another term as Chief.

https://www.wpr.org/annette-ziegler-elected-chief-justice-wisconsin-supreme-court

Roggensack is up for re-election in 2023.  This could be the beginning of the end of her tenure.  I have a feeling she won’t run again due to the fact that she’s 80.  Also, this could elevate Ziegler’s profile for a few years until she is up in 2027.

Evers running again
https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2021/06/02/evers-appoints-campaign-manager-effectively-announcing-his-re-election-bid-for-2022-governors-race/7504820002/
The big question is, will Mandela Barnes run again, or run for Senate?

If he gets that Senate nomination, he’ll probably drag Evers down with him after the things he said about the Kenosha riots

Evers and Nelson were leading in Change and Democracy Corp poll 48/44 we will win WI, MI and PA, granted it was RV not  LV screen by Democracy Corp was right on IL Sen 2016 when Kirk lost to Duckworth

We can win WI, PA, MI and don't necessarily need to have the H to do it but we can keep the Senate and keeping the Senate is vital to 2024 certificate of Election

AG Josh Kaul is running for reelection.  This will be a tough race, but it’s probably the right decision for him and Dems being the incumbent here vs. joining the crowded Senate field.

I know that I'm always pouring cold water on good news but Karofsky's win last year didn't mean jack-s*** for 2020.
