Class A Senate seats are supposed to represent the interests of each region in the Senate, as such I don't consider it that much of stretch to have the regions determine the exact method of how they are selected.

I oppose the motion to table this.

It would have to be a situation where and election was held on the current date for only a two month term.

Like for class A. You could hold an election in February for only a two month term for each class A seat. Then in April you pick up with the new scheduling for class A.

The problem comes when you have to switch class B. April might end up having elections for both classes. The first election on the new system for class A with regular term ;engths, and the two month transitionals for class B. Then you pick up with first solitary class B election for four month terms in June. August then holds the second round of regular four month term Class A seat elections. Etc etc etc.

Bgwah, what are your ideas on this matter?

Then of course you got the issue of regions holding KY/MS/LA and other styles of odd month regional elections, which Napoleon mentioned.

Yes, this would require three regions moving their elections to a different month. And yeah it would require a two month (or six month?! Tongue) terms for Senators.

If it were easy, Game Reform wouldn't be worth doing in the first place.

Well I can tackle a piece of it, since I basically am the only one to lay out a system by which this can occur in detail.  Amendment in formation:

I can add the specific dates referencing these months of next year and other necessary details regarding functionality, tomorrow.

I do need to fine tune it for sure, otherwise we will have a mess next year. However I am swamped tonight with last minute school projects and won't have time till tomorrow to do anything substantial.

Guess we should start here:

Section 4: Elections to the Senate
2.Elections for the seats in Class A shall be held in the months of February, June and October; Elections for the seats in Class B shall be held in the months of April, August and December.

We could just leave it like that and solve the damn problem that way. Democracy is just too damn strenous. Evil Wink

Bgwah, with the above Constitutional modificitions, it would be legal to do pass the exact details (What I posted two days ago but with more specific details) as legislation?

Would that be a more effective way to do it, or should it all be placed in the Consitution? It would seem to add a lot of unnecessary one off procedures that will never be used again if it were all placed there?

Thoughts?

One last time just to be safe. Are there any concerns with the wording regarding the transition. It is going to take a while to implement such a shift and if there is something that can be tightened, lets do it now rather than risk a mess later.
