The Times-Picayune, New Orleans' major paper, in something of a surprise, endorsed Vitter.

The Gambit, which is also a popular New Orleans paper, endorsed Dardenne.
The Times-Picayune Editorial Board endorsement is the most mystifying thing I have ever read. They basically give credit to Vitter for Landrieu's New Orleans recovery bill, say that he works with his opponents in Congress, and that we can trust him at his word. This from the man that solicited prostitutes in diapers.

Vitter probably just needs to scrape together around 20% of the vote to make it into the runoff. We know you can do it little guy!

^ No, I'm pretty sure Edwards would be unopposed if Vitter withdraws.

The closest precedent I can think of is 1987. Edwin Edwards came in second place in the primary but refused to go to the runoff. Roemer placed first in the primary and won the Governorship with 33%.

This is correct.

I commented "Diaper Dave 2k15!" on the video, but sadly it was removed when they disabled comments. Vitter isn't even governor and is already quashing dissent against his regime.

David Vitter losing is going to cause mass hysteria on the right in Louisiana.

Here is a link to the RRH poll, in case it was not put it. The most interesting thing is that of the close to half of the voters who have already voted, Vitter leads 48% to 44% over Edwards. The poll has those who have not yet voted, but likely to vote, going 52% to 36% for Edwards. That strikes me as a rather amazing discrepancy.

How can there be 8% undecided among early voters? These people already made their decision. This just makes the poll look like complete junk.
By golly, you're right.

Trash it.

I think most of us can agree that JBE is the most high energy Democratic candidate for governor that we have seen in a long time.

Have you guys been following the 500 million dollar budget hole fiasco? Jindal's plan to fill the hole he has dug is so odious, and it is going to remind Louisiana voters just what 8 years of Republican leadership has gotten them. Not good for Vitter certainly, even if Jindal is his enemy.
