One of the best recent GOPers, which means he's pretty good, but not great. His tenure as Indiana Governor is really great, but he was real dumb as Bush's Budget Director.

His economic policies were obviously more conservative than I would like, but compared to the governors that have been sweeping through the Midwest of recent (Walker, Snyder, Corbett, etc), Daniels was a tempered and reasonable governor.
