You dumbass. Thousands of people are going to die.
Oh so when the US kills Assad's troops it's terrible but when Assad gasses his own people it's nothing. Get out!

When the f--k did I ever say that? Assad is a piece of s--t, but I don't feel like starting another goddamn Iraq War.

Eh, I think Assad should do what pleases him, even if it is killing children, but it is still sad.

I dont think we had much of an option. A man gassing his own people by the hundreds needs to be stopped.

Something must be done, definitely. But what? Do we want an Iraq 2.0 with countless more Syrians dying and being displaced, not to mention the likelihood of numerous US soldier deaths? Where do we even go with this? The Syrian Civil War is a total quagmire with multiple fronts fighting each other and no clear good side or bad side. No matter what we do, there is an extraordinary chance of further destabilization, ethnic genocide or at least serious ethnic conflict, and committing our resources to another disaster.

The best thing we could do is to pursue something through the UN or some other multilateral, international agreement. Doing this alone will be a nightmare for everyone involved.

i got a feeling, the scale of the syria civil war wasn't covered as much in the US as in europe.

there are soooo many dead, soooo many displaced, soooo many crippled and sooo many lost.....there is nearly nothing the US could do which would impact the country in a more negative way than it was following the last 5 years.

For now it's limited to Tomahawks which are fairly low key missiles. Remains to be seen whether the conflict will escalate. I think Trump's just responding to the outrage and wants to be seen as doing something.

Except killing more people would impact the county in a more negative way?

you are absolutely correct and very human.

i am just "triggered" if someone writes about possible refugees or destabilization.....those limits are loooooooong gone.

I'm going to break my "no politics after 9PM for my own sanity" rule just to say this:

In the most hypothetical, theoretical of contexts... I support this action (i.e. the airstrike itself). However, the implementation and execution of this event is totally inexplicable.

OK, that's all, I'm going back to Riverdale. Good night.

I don't believe the United States should be involved in the Middle East again.

So....is this he start of world war 3?.....

how should that unfold?

there would have been a much higher chance of a big-scale conflict in ukraine.

russia doesn't care enough.

On Twitter, lots of Trump's supporters are not happy about this at all. They think he's going against what he ran on.

Funny enough though, there are probably a lot of moderate democrats and republicans who agree with this.

A lot of people who support Trump on twitter are in all honesty, paid Putin trolls. This is a good thing.
