Which one has a more temperate climate and wooded/rural areas? I doubt I could live anywhere hotter than here right now. Weather's been awful the last two days. Also, lakes would be nice.

Going with California based on climate. Since I assume my income wouldn't automatically increase, I'd be stuck with a car lacking air conditioning. That said, I'll head to what's closest to the Pacific North-West which I hear is pretty nice. However, I do fear my freedoms being infringed by the Commufornians, so I'm not sure how it would go down.
