We'll see how he performs as Senate Majority Leader, but he clearly did not perform as best as he could as Senate Minority Leader.

HP

As far as I'm concerned, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell are two peas in a pod. As I've posted a couple of times before,

I don't have any hope for the U.S. Senate to become any better of an institution than it was under McConnell's dictatorship. I assume that Chuck Schumer is going to be just as bad of a Majority Leader as McConnell was. Schumer will not exercise the power of being Senate Majority Leader with any more wisdom or fairness than McConnell did. Schumer will use the office to get revenge, mimick many of the same tactics that McConnell used, and claim that he's entitled to do so because McConnell set the precedents for how to wield power.

The bottom line is that the Senate is too partisan. It's just as partisan as the House, whereas our Founding Fathers expected the Senate to be better than the House. I no longer vote for Democratic or Republican nominees for the U.S. Senate, I just vote for minor third-party candidates. I know those votes are futile, but I do it anyway out of spite for both major parties.

Dick Durbin will automatically become D Leader should Schumer loses in the primary against AOC, but the Rs rolled him on the filibuster and now they are using his own words from 1998 on Impeachment to not convict Trump, we are doing the business of the people not convicting an ex Prez.

It's found out the only penalty that D's can install on Trump is to ban him from office. Since he wouldn't be removed before he left office, he would still get his Govt pension.

This is worst than I thought, I had enough of this Impeachment and I wasn't crazy about last one

Has done some stupid things in the past but at least understands the stakes of the moment and that the status quo is not acceptable. FF.

Neutral. I've never particularly liked Schumer, but I've never really borne anything against him either. He is certainly far better than the loathsome Mitch McConnell, who has probably done the most of any member of Congress to destroy our institutional norms in the past decade.

HP.

He's the epitome of today's Wall Street "liberal".  There's not much "liberalism" to the current Schumer.
