http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/14/king.sc.debate/index.html

Read the last three sentences of the article, especially.

Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) is leaving the door open a crack for an entry into the 2008 GOP Presidential Primary as the 10 current GOP contenders prepare to gather in Columbia, South Carolina for Tuesday Night's Debate on May 15 hosted by Fox News and moderated by Brit Hume.

Sanford is referring to endorsing somebody when he says that he will "stay out of it - for now", not running himself.

Didn't he already say he wasn't going to run?

Yes, but so did Al Gore and Mike Bloomberg, but he apparently reopened the door just a crack.  I don't think he's going to run, but its kind of funny, he wouldn't make it very far if he did.  Now, its true that neither Gore nor Bloom are running, yet, but they refuse to close, lock and bolt the door shut.  They're leaving the door open a crack.

Bloomberg's running. Why else would he threaten to spend $1,000,000,000 on a campaign?
