Gingrich’s rhetoric re: Trump seems to have taken a turn of late.  The initial Gingrich VP buzz coincided with Gingrich becoming a big cheerleader for Trump in the media.  But more recently, he’s been rather critical…first criticizing Trump over the Susanna Martinez flap, and now over this Hispanic judge thing:

Wow, I didn't realize that Gingrich was such a multicultural, globalist, SJW cuck. /s

The debates would have been interesting.

Gingrich is also pretty capable of creating slapfights on stage.

Rick Scott's denial of interest went as far as saying that he won't be vetted:

Not going to happen now. Trump will not forgive him such treachery.

Why should Trump ask potential running mates for tax returns?  I mean I realize he's a lying hypocrite but he's usually not that obvious.

He said he would ask for them anyway. When pressed on his hypocrisy he just deflected and changed the topic.

Yes, he really is that obvious.

Look at his recent idiocy towards Judge Curiel. His comments are completely irrational. They have no connection whatsoever to reality, or to his own previous statements!

Trump[/s]Miller's entire schtick revolves around everyone going, "Oh, no one in his position could possibly be that racist/stupid/ignorant/criminal/evil" and then coming up with explanations to avoid painful levels of cognitive dissonance.

All of them on his short lists should say " not until you show me yours".

My guess: Gingrich learned at some point in the past week that Trump was not going to pick him, and has therefore lost any reason to defend him.

Could well be the case; Newt's ego is bigger than Trump's.

Trump says that Gingrich's criticism of him is "inappropriate":

Gingrich’s fellow presumed-VP short lister Bob Corker is also criticizing Trump over the Curiel matter, albeit in somewhat more gentle terms.  On “This Week”, he said that Trump is “going to have to change” his campaign approach for the general election, and:

The Trumpster was always finished as for the GE. His whole campaign is a scam.

He's almost certainly going to clinch the nomination with bound delegates alone after tomorrow, so the only way to get a different candidate would be to employ some sort of nuclear option. That could lead to a huge backlash.

At this stage, the risk of that backlash pales in comparison to the damage Trump is bringing onto the GOP, the US image internationally and to the economy.

So who hasn't gone against Trump by now and fits all his criteria? Just Sessions?
