It's Complicated.

Mother wanted someone to go see it with on her birthday. I obliged. It wasn't horrible.

I seriously doubt that...

Jennifer's Body.

It was kind of meh and no real Megan Fox nudity.

Other than the lesbian kissing, it was terrible. Big disappointment.

Crazy Heart

Basically The Wrestler, only with a country singer. Pretty good.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Quite enjoyable and pretty epic at times.

Whip It

This was a very strong movie. Far better than the "Girl wants to be rebellious so she joins a roller derby team" simple plot it could've simply been. Drew Barrymore might have a strong directorial career.

Too bad it bombed. (I've only seen about half an hour of it though.)

Kingsley seemed goofy in it from what I've seen of it.

Bitch Slap

Terrible in most ways but still well worth watching for the incredible looking women in it.

The Hurt Locker

Good movie. I could live with it winning Best Picture, especially if it is our only hope of beating Avatar.

The Story of Anvil

Bicycle Thieves

How was it?

Pretty revolting at times but very interesting. I liked it... as much as you can like that sort of thing anyway.

What did you think of Bicycle Thieves (or Thief)? It's one of my favorites.

I appreciated it, but it's not something you want to watch over again. It seemed after awhile that the main thing is not that he lost his bicycle or even his job but that he has lost face in front of his son.

Well that and more importantly that his family could very well end up starving to death.

People starved to death in late 1940s Italy? The beginning of the movie implied there were lots of unemployed people who got welfare, they went hungry but did not starve to death.

I'm sure some people did. Perhaps in this case it is hyperbole but this is the case that he makes to his son at dinner in the movie (if I'm remembering correctly).

Half Nelson

Lars and the Real Girl

Both were very good (especially Half Nelson). Ryan Gosling is an extremely talented actor and at times he can be hilarious in that awkward sort of way.

No problem. Tongue

Hard Candy

Spring Break has certainly given me the chance to watch some movies that I've meaning to watch for some time. This was pretty entertaining.

Fritz The Cat

I had seen some of it before but this was my first time watching it in its entirety. Pretty good. Heavy Traffic is a lot better though.

I'm looking forward to Kick-Ass based on the reviews. I can't say I ever read any of the comics (even though I'm a comic reader).

Seen the redband trailer? It's hilarious. That little girl in it is actually really funny.

Yeah. Promising stuff.

Sherlock Holmes

It was fine for the most part. I could see why Arthur Conan Doyle purists would despise it though. I don't know if we really need fart jokes in Sherlock Holmes movies...

Clash of the Titans (the new one)

It was crap compared to the original but it was so incredibly cheesy that it was actually kind of enjoyable. The fight scenes were fairly well done too. I'm glad I don't have to pay to see these things though because the "3D" aspect of it was a joke... completely unnoticeable.

3:10 to Yuma [2007] I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, probably the best western made in the last decade of those that i have seen. I plan on watching the 1957 version eventually.

Yeah, I was impressed by that one.

Kick Ass

Crass humour and gore, what else could a guy want in a film worth viewing when hardly any good ones are actually on. Nicholas Cage, was particularly funny; initially I thought he was some kind of paedophile with that slowly balding scalp and that Village Peopleseque ginger mostache.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Kick Ass.

It was everything I expected, hilarious and bloody. Too bad the theater started showing the wrong movie at first (Date Night), but everyone in the theater got a coupon giving free admission to any movie at the same place that never expired so it made up for it.

I'm gonna try to see it Saturday, not sure if I'll have time though.
