No he wouldn't, just as Reagan wouldn't have defeated Carter in '76.

He's still seen as a well-meant, affable, but extreme man.

No, someone like Sanders actually winning will only come when the bottom completely falls out and the existing ideas fail to explain...just like Reagan.

Now 2020 could be perfectly ripe [but since history only rhymes, it'll have to be Sanders protege], assuming trump flounders as expected [ala Jimmy Carter].

Biden would've won for sure though.

I don't think Bernie would have won.

I think it was in the cards for Trump to win, and that's that.

Yup.

The democrats needed a Bill Clinton or Obama type quality to beat the Donald.

Bernie was anti-establishment, and he was "sexual email" scandal-free, so it's a tough call.

No, they needed a John Bel Edwards type on a larger scale and of course, more liberal.

Bernie would've lost Virginia thanks to turnout depression in Hawkland NoVA, allowing Shenandoah to give it to Trump.

Ohio, Iowa, and Florida would also still be lost.

And Nevada would be the tipping point state.

Best Bernie could do is lighten the EV vote, cuz he wouldn't have the Popular Vote thanks to even less minority turnout..

No, Sanders now would be like Reagan in '76...too soon.
