When I used to watch the tour de france, I was always amazed by Lance Armstrongs recovery, I remember one stage where he blew and professional cyclists will tell you if you lose your legs in the mountains one day the next day will be harder. Yet on both occasions Floyd Landis and Armstrong defied biology and recovered to win stages. Armstrong bought so much money and attention to the sport that everytime said he was taking drugs they were shutdown and laughed at. Yet Marco Pantani, Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso - Armstrongs rivals - were all found to be positive.

In 1988 during the seoul olympics, florence griffiths joyner broke world records for 100m and 200m. Athletes claimed she was high as a kite, they were blasted as bad losers. Florence died very young in 1998 with her rivals firmly claiming that authorites let her off.

Ben Johnson who took drugs beat Americas poster child Carl Lewis. Johnson and Joyner were basically on the same stuff. Yet the canadian gets found guilty.

In 2012, a chinese teenager beat an american hope and the american coach flat out called the chinese girl a drug cheat. No one accused her of taking drugs but celebrated her performaces.

Isn't it funny when americans are accused of cheating at the time they pass the tests. Yet everyone else gets caught who isn't american?

So question if lance armstrong wasn't american would he have failed one of his 500 tests. Answer categorically is yes.

1. Contador never was an opponent of Armstrong in his prime.
2. Listing Contador along fallen heroes like Pantani or Ullrich isn't very fair. Remember they just found some minusculous traces of clembuterol. Actually, if you ask me, the fact that Contador has won only 2 Tours so far (because of that one test, and becuas Astana was banned from participating in the 2009 Tour due to Vino's exploits) is the real scandal of cycling 2008-2013.
