Members have 24 hours to nominate candidate(s) for Speaker.

I will be seeking the Speakership.

I'm not sure if this is necessary or according to protocol. But if it is, then I am definitely putting my name forward.

Again I will like to stress that it is far from clear there even needs to be a vote.

There's nothing in the rules about the Deputy Speaker becoming Speaker. Those powers would be delegated by the presiding officer, as the precedent was set by fhtagn. Therefore, as Dean of the Chamber and presiding officer in lack of a Speaker, I appoint Deputy Speaker TimTurner to act as Speaker until a new Speaker is chosen.

I will also withdraw my nomination.

I'm sorry, but what?

EDIT: Actually, subsection 4 was left out of the new Rules. Another parting gift from Nev.

Anyway, has fhtagn said that she doesn't want to be Speaker anymore? I remember back in December when Leinad became a Senator, he still stuck around until the end of the session.

I have already resigned from my seat as a delegate.

Thank you for finding that rule, though. I know it was the actual rule, but I was having trouble finding it, and Nev failed to include it when the rules were written.

All that being said, I don't think there really needs to be a vote, as TimTurner was unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker and there are only 2 weeks left in the session.

I'm still not sure if this vote was required legally speaking, but I do thank those who voted for me regardless. Let's pass some laws, y'all.
