I agree he should be calling a special earlier, but Newsom did the exact same thing with CA-50 last year.

I think there should be a federal or the same state law in each state that requires a special elections for either congressional body within 90 days. Perhaps exclude the senate if there's less than 6 months left to the next regular election.

There definitely should be.
