SAN DIEGO — After CBS 8 aired a story about an Ocean Beach nurse anesthetist who was attacked leaving an OB restaurant, many people started posting their Ocean Beach experiences online. Stories of getting assaulted, threatened, peeping Toms, and harassed.

We called San Diego Police to find out why people reported having such problems with response times.

Jonny said there’s open drug use, and homeless and out-of-work adults hang out on the sidewalks day and night. "People know now that they can get away with it, and they come down here because they know that they can come to Ocean Beach and they can do whatever they want and repercussions would be limited if any.

Homelessness is a big big problem throughout this country. A lot of thoughts on the issue and a lot of solutions put forth. This affects everyone. What can we do that is politically feasible?

What can we do that is politically feasible?

You can either have a solution that is politically feasible or a solution that is moral. Pick one.

Millions of Americans lean towards moderate political views. Why is there no base for morality?

Timmy was a young man who had always been passionate about politics. He had grown up in a wealthy, conservative family, and had always been taught that homeless people were lazy and undeserving of help. So when he moved to Los Angeles to attend college, he was determined to make a difference by fighting against the city's homeless population.

As an anti-homeless activist, Timmy spent much of his time campaigning against the city's shelters and soup kitchens, arguing that they only enabled homeless people to continue living on the streets. He organized protests and rallies, and even started a petition to shut down Skid Row, the area of the city with the largest concentration of homeless people.

But despite his best efforts, Timmy found himself feeling more and more frustrated and disillusioned. He couldn't understand why homeless people wouldn't just pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get a job. He felt like he was fighting a losing battle, and began to question whether his activism was doing any good.

One day, as Timmy was walking through Skid Row, he saw a homeless woman sitting on the sidewalk. She was dirty and disheveled, and he felt a surge of disgust and pity. But something about her caught his eye, and he found himself walking over to her. "Hi, I'm Timmy," he said, extending his hand.

The woman looked at him with surprise and suspicion, but after a moment she shook his hand. "My name is Lucy," she said. Timmy was shocked to hear that she had a college degree and had once been a successful businesswoman. But like many others on Skid Row, she had fallen on hard times and was now struggling to survive on the streets.

As Timmy and Lucy began to talk, Timmy found himself drawn to her intelligence and strength. He was touched by her story, and began to see homeless people in a different light. He realized that they were not lazy or undeserving, but were often just regular people who had been dealt a bad hand in life.

Over the next few weeks, Timmy and Lucy grew closer and closer. Timmy began to spend more and more time on Skid Row, helping Lucy and the other homeless people with food and supplies. And as their friendship deepened, Timmy found himself falling in love with Lucy.

At first, Timmy was terrified of what people would think if they found out about his relationship with a homeless woman. But Lucy was kind and loving, and she showed him a side of life that he had never experienced before. Slowly but surely, Timmy's heart opened up and he was able to embrace his love for her.

In the end, Timmy's love for Lucy changed his entire perspective on life. He realized that homeless people were not his enemies, but were fellow human beings who deserved compassion and support. He quit his job as an anti-homeless activist and began to work with Lucy to help other homeless people get back on their feet. Together, they built a small community of people who supported and cared for each other, and Timmy was finally able to find the happiness and fulfillment that he had been seeking all along.

On the issue of homelessness, the majority of Americans - including both Republicans and Democrats - have absolutely horrific views on homelessness. There is a stunning lack of empathy for homeless people as individuals and as a group.

Homeless people are terrified of committing crimes and getting arrested, these attacks cannot be unprovoked then.

Only thing I can think of that is politically feasible are what many people are saying are called second amendment remedies. Republicans support this, and moderate hero Ds like Sinema and Manchin (and quite possibly at least 10-15 others) could get behind it as well, so it is a solution that can earn bipartisan support.

Get rid of stupid zoning laws in cities. Build tall apartment buildings with retail in the first floor. The retail provides nearby spaces to shop and work, the new apartment units provide supply to reduce the massive outweigh of demand and helps drive down the insane rent prices to somewhat regarding sanity. It also makes neighborhoods more walkablr with more things to do nearby.

Force drug users into rehab. Stop ignoring them and letting them rot on the street and steal from others. If they dont like rehab then they can go to jail, that is their only choice. As part of rehab, offer job training and services that help them find a job along with temporary housing.

Tell NIMBY people to shove it or leave the city.
