He won't eat hot dogs or burgers or eggs on the campaign trail. Will this hurt his chances?

That is easily enough to doom him, although we already knew he would not be the nominee anyway. If the voters cannot see him eating meat, he will appear too elitist and will crash and burn. Republicans will be able to credibly recycle the attack that Ted Cruz successfully used against Beto, the claim that Beto wanted to ban BBQ. Who will believe that someone who won't even eat BBQ themselves will not ban it?

It's an non-issue. His attacks on President Obama will get more heat during the election.

Yes. The US is not ready for a vegan president.

I didn't know this was the case.  I have been vegan in the past, and I am vegetarian now, and I agree that America isn't ready for a vegan president.  I think having a vegan presidential candidate, will certainly help make veganism more mainstream, so I hope he doesn't become a meat eater to increase his chances of becoming president.
Regardless of that, a guy who still has girlfriends instead of a wife, will not be voted by Americans in 2020.

It should be a non-issue, but this is the United States we are talking about here. Like with a lot of things that are supposedly "elitist," there is a bizarre hatred towards vegans/vegetarians in our country. It's also oddly hypocritical: "those pussies need to stop telling me what I can and can't eat! Why can't you all eat meat like a real Amurican man!?"

I'm sure if Cory Booker needs to stop being a vegan for electoral reasons, Cory Booker will stop being a vegan for electoral reasons.

Can you imagine the outrage and backlash when, after touting his own special Cory-Booker awesomeness in the  debates, an opponent rolls his or her eyes and asks him “where’s the beef?”

Knowing the President's obvious health and how reports say he eats red meat daily, it could potentially help him.

The only state I see a potential problem would be Iowa where pork is the biggest industry though I don't remember it being a problem for Lieberman who keeps kosher.

Yeah, Trump’s meat intake. That’s what people are losing sleep over.

I mean, we almost elected a Mormon president a few years ago, so at least voters have shown themselves open to supporting a cult member for the presidency.

It is indeed a non-issue, but in the times we're living in non-issues have become the most important issues. Booker will be damaged by this because it makes him unrelatable or something. Every politician's life choice apparently has to resemble a voter's own or else they aren't qualified to be President. We live in such a stupid time in our stupid nation.
