Congrats, Peebs, hopefully that turns out well. Smiley
Thanks!
Also, it seems they haven't read it yet, so I guess the end line of it ("Quitting the male gender/safety for Lent") isn't cold turkey. Tongue

Hope it goes well...

I can't really do any more genealogy work. Considering folks in 19th century Appalachia and Louisiana aren't the best at keeping records on the whereabouts of white trash indentured servants. And I can just tell that literacy is a very recent development in my family.

How far back have you gotten? Have you had any luck with Census records?
I've actually been able to find my earliest American ancestor. I discussed it in a few posts earlier in this thread. I just haven't fleshed it all out as much as I would've liked.

Had to stay home sick, might have a fever. Only bad thing is I might have to miss band practice this afternoon (and y'know, I feel kind of miserable)

That sucks, LLR. My throat's been killing me all day and it's been a real kick in the butt.
Thanks!

Трамп is my absolute favorite condescending nickname for the Donald.

The town whose municipal government my mom works in got hit by a tornado several nights ago. It's the first February tornado in Massachusetts in recorded history.

Obstacles to the End (exempting more minor homeworks):
1. Thesis Defense
2. Domestic Terrorism final paper
3. Organized Crime final paper
4. Political Radicalism final paper
5. Film final paper
6. Communism & Post-Communism final paper
7. Russian final
8. Organized Crime final

Practical obstacles include surviving spring break financially intact, maintaining a clean bill of mental health, and hitting the gym.

I have a job interview tomorrow, fingers-crossed.... wish me luck.

Been working since I was 18 at least 20/hrs a week, even in college.

Not used to being out of work at all, after 25 years in the workforce and hoping everything comes together.

Thanks! Apparently, they still haven't read it. This is getting less stressful and more annoying. Tongue
On a sidenote, my mom still made me go to school despite the fact that I feel like I'm dying.

Two pieces of advice
1. Go for hormones quickly. If you want to freeze sperm, get it done as quickly as possible so you can get hormones faster.
2. Start learning how to change your voice now, and do it right(with some slowness and caution) instead of getting a kind of bad voice that strains your vocal cords(I made that mistake, my voice is good enough that I pass, but its still pretty bad. I should have done it more slowly/carefully. I don't even practice things to improve it.)

Again, I'm waiting for a reaction from the folks. I mean, as I mentioned in Update for Everyone IV, my mom still kept misgendering me after I came out to her as if I hadn't said anything at all, so this is really hit-or-miss. I'll keep that in mind for if Butti brings her (as well as my dad) over and they accept me for who I am. Though, I remember reading that frozen sperm dies after 7 years or so. Seeing as I don't want to be a mother at 22 (that's for when my hypothetical eventual wife and I are 50 and we adopt a set of creepy adult twins from Romania), I'll probably pass on that and jump straight to hormones when I can. As for the voice thing, I've experimented a little when I'm alone. Obviously, I'll be doing it a lot more if the folks are accepting, but still.

EDIT: I'm basically just gonna bump this thread every day my parents leave the email unread. Tongue

25,000th post in just over six years. Could be worse I guess. I could have 50,000.

Godspeed.

Currently bamboozled by the fact that the Netflix subtitles at the end of "Mac Day" in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia say "All right, Pee Country Mac" instead of "R.I.P. Country Mac".
Also, still no response.

EDIT: On a side note, if any of you want to see what I sent to the folks, PM me.

Could be worse - I've posted 5000 times since May 21st.

Although luckily I've been reading more books and thus posting less recently, but I'm sure that'll change sometime soon.

My mom (who already knows) saw it, and I've been talking to her about it. Best case scenario, she gets it and after a conversation with the old man, they allow me to transition. Worst case scenario, I've already mentioned.

I submitted my thesis to my committee on Wednesday night, relatively late. I reread it, but all I can imagine is how awful it must look (even though I have yet to reread it since submission). Given how close to the soft deadline I finished it, I had only myself to proofread. This has made me nervous that my internal logic might not have been properly explained on the page. Even though it's nagging at me, I have to say I'm not sure how much I care, since it's a product I, personally, am satisfied with. I feel if I put my presentation together properly and handle questions well, I should be fine. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if revisions are recommended.
