So I just wanted to say something about this whole mess in a chart:

Fed Pres candidates:

Pres.
VP

Feb '13
Cathcon
Spamage

June

Clarence (before heart attack)
Matt

(after)

Matt
Maxwell

October

(before Spamage's mom's health faultered)
Spamage
Limune

(after Spamage dropped out)
Duke
Matt

February '14

(Before Maxwell left)

Reaganfan
HuhHuh?

Maxwell
Huh??

(after he dropped out (now))

Reaganfan
HuhHuh?

After something bad happens, their opponent (or part of the ticket) in the Fed party drops out and their opponent comes close to the Presidency.

Still though, it seems like in part the Federalist primary is so tough because a contingent feels like Duke has been the third Labor President, heh.

The close primary is due to Duke being unorthodox on both fiscal and social issues. If he was at least somewhat pro-life he would've gotten Miles & my* vote. If he was a bit more free market he probably would have swung Rooney, Electionsguy & PiT. Since he wasn't either of those things, Reaganfan was able to produce a diverse AnythingButDuke coalition.

* I vastly prefer Duke, both fiscally and stylistically, but abortion is a dealbreaker for me. Duke still gets an enthusiatic vote in the general.

Are you sure we weren't witched at birth?
