Which 2 or 3 Senators in the opposing party....

Do you like most (doesn't have to be based of policy stances, although that will likely affect it to varying degree)?

Donnelly, Warner and Manchin are some of my favorites.

I also respect Schumer, Klobuchar and Booker to varying degrees, despite our ideological incompatibility.

Pat Toomey seems like a nice enough guy, I respect John McCain immensely, and Rand Paul I guess is alright too.

Since I'm an independent, it only makes sense to do it for both parties. This list probably isn't as good as it should be, since I'm not 100% familiar with the majority of senators.

Favorite Democratic senators: Bernie Sanders (does that count?) and Ed Markey
Favorite Republican senators: Rand Paul and Marco Rubio

Politically. I'm sure there are a smattering of others who are great people personally.

Bernie Sanders, Tom Udall, Joe Manchin.

I'm deliberately excluding anyone who has signed these bits of nonsense:

http://www.portman.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=A7ECFC89-6512-4488-B424-28AAEE20FB69

I REALLY strained myself hard on this one.

Manchin, Donnelly, and Casey, but hopefully all three lose in 2018!

I still have a bit of respect for Rand Paul, although it continues to diminish. Murkowski isn't that bad either I guess.

Pre-Trump I held Paul and McCain in a relatively high regard. I still have a bit of respect left for both of them, but it has greatly diminished in the past year.

Lisa Murkowski is great, so is Susan Collins.  I respect Rob Portman for standing by his gay son.  I think Pat Toomey took a risk on background checks...  Jeff Flake seems to be fairly reasonable.  I didn't like Marco Rubio as a presidential candidate, but my opinion of him has gone up a smudge.  Richard Burr's had some votes, like on DADT, that were surprisingly progressive.  John McCain, if he would return back to his maverick style would be good.

Jeff Flake is as close to liking a GOP Senator as I get, next up is Lisa Murkowski, and I begrudgingly respect Mitch McConnell, a man who has no shape and pursued the "burn it down" strategy perfectly.

Bernie Sanders -- Due to some of his anti-establishment policies, though I disagree with his social policies
Joe Manchin -- Since he is more conservative than most democrats, but honestly is very corporate.
Heidi Heitkamp -- For much of the same reasons as Manchin.
