http://www.realclearpolitics.com/docs/2016/RMP_AZ_Senate_April_2016.pdf

42% Kirkpatrick
42% McCain

42% each for McCain and Kirkpatrick, the breakdown of support looks odd to me, but I know little on Arizona voting patterns by demographic (Has McCain winning Latino's but losing the older vote and rural vote if I read it right)

BRC has consistently shown a Democratic house effect in 2012 and 2014. This poll is decent news for McCain.

I'd agree but being tied as an incumbent is never "good" news, its not terrible news though

This Senate race is the ultimate fool's gold for Democrats. McCain isn't going to lose, period.

It's early, but if the nominee is Trump, McCain should prepare himself for a hard-fought race.

Somehow McCain is getting 50% of Hispanic voters in this poll and is still tied?

Okay, looking at the crosstabs, this poll is total junk.

Eliminating moderates obviously helps your midterms, when the other party's base sweeps the general and stops all compromising. "Where are the moderates?!?" The incumbent President's people say. Where are they? You severely hurt your last two years of your term by helping your first two slightly.

Strickland will win due to his support in Black community despite his gun record like Bob Casey. McCain stop compromising as soon as McConnell became Leader.

Well, it's not like Republicans care about moderates either, after cheering Begich, Hagan, Pryor, and Landrieu being booted out in 2014.

None of those are moderates, except maybe Pryor. Or do you consider Toomey, Johnson, Burr and Lee moderates as well?
👍 Just because a senator represents a swing state (or a state that frequently votes for the opposite party) does not make him/her a moderate.

And, on the other hand, I can think of a certain deeply Republican state that has two very moderate Republican Senators...

At least that wasn't in a Presidential year. Pryor was a corrupt person, and Hagan was pretty liberal, especially for being from NC. Landrieu was pretty moderate, while Begich was more of a McCain maverick. I guess I can say those two were pretty bad losses for moderates.

Eh. We sort of have the opposite problem. Massachusetts is certainly liberal, but it isn't as liberal as Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey would make you believe.

People can keep saying whatever they want, this will be a competitive race and probably McCain's last one.

Green avatars couldn't recognize a moderate if it stared out at them through a mirror.
