The last big election day until November - it's going to be a long wait after this. It's been fun, though.

No love for South Dakota and Montana?

Or Puerto Rico?

The three places combined have a total of 80-some pledged delegates.  So, yeah, this is the last big election day for 5 1/2 months.

What time do the Kentucky polls close?

CNN, though, shows 50-46 with 9% in for Clinton.  I know this is probably as good as Obama will do all night in this state, but its a good sign that maybe it won't be as bad as everybody had predicted.  Am I off track here?

33 delegates have already been awarded from Kentucky.  Clinton gets 22 to put her at 1741 (CNN estimate) and Obama gets 11 to put him at 1929 which is 97 delegates away from the nomination.

Jefferson County is currently about 3/4 of the votes cast.  It's less than 1/5 of the state population.

Slaughter, folks.

Thankfully, the tables will be turned, though not completely, when we get to Oregon in about 3 hours 45 minutes.  Unfortunately, Obama's Oregon win doesn't look as big as Clinton's Kentucky win.

We are screwed here. Almost all pro-Obama areas are done reporting, except for Cinncinati suburb area, and some more Lexington.

Oh Well.  Its McCain's state, anyway, in November.

So wait, hang on... which county is Kennedy's tumor winning, again, and why does Hillary want to avoid it?  *For those of you watching CNN*

Um... I think its in Suffolk Co, Massachusetts.  Looks like we'll get back to Kentucky here after the break.

Hillary's final victory rally... unless she has one in PR.

Hopefully, her next major speech will be her concession speech.

Um... Hillary...  I'm sorry, but the magic number is 2,026 and Michigan and Florida WILL NOT count and Obama is double digits away.

Um... I think its in Suffolk Co, Massachusetts.  Looks like we'll get back to Kentucky here after the break.

Sorry if what I said seemed in poor taste, but I think the fact that they were reporting on the tumor with graphs and highlighting areas "we want to avoid" was somewhat satirical... or farcical... I really can't tell... I'm not sure if the comedy is the result of them taking something serious and making it practically a joke, or whether it is because they took something and made their reporting of it seem very serious.  Eitherway, it was in poor taste.

That's fine.  I'm glad you apologized and, at least in my mind, it is accepted.

Just another state that will embrace more of the failed same in November, Kentucky will be

Dave

I see what you're saying, and I agree for the most part.

However, maybe Kentucky and other red states, such as Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, etc. think Bush hasn't done an extremely bad job or that McCain will be a different Republican. Whatever the reason, I don't think we are in a position to diss any state or any voter for voting the way or the amount they do.  Some people think Bush was a great president, and we can't fault those people for any kind of lack of knowledge, or ignorance, or idiocy, as its just their opinion.  We don't have to agree with them, but we should respect it.

New Delegate Count:  CNN Estimate as of 8:00 pm CDT

Barack Obama:  12 from Kentucky.  1,625 pledged and 305 supers for a total of 1,930, which is 96 away from 2,026 (or 280 from 2,210).

Hillary Clinton:   34 from Kentucky.   1,476 pledged and 277 supers for a total of 1,753, which is 273 away from 2,026 and 457 away from 2,210 and 177 delegates shy of Barack Obama's current total.

There are 5 more pledged delegates left to be allocated in Kentucky.

I think I heard Suzanne Malveaux say that Obama plans on speaking around 10:00 pm Eastern, 9:00 pm Central in Des Moines, Iowa, which is about an hour from now and an hour before the Oregon results are released.

And, you forgot FL/MI.  Clinton will try to seat them and she probably has a good chance of succeeding.

No, I didn't forget them.  Look at the bolded information.

Nevermind what I said earlier. My 65% to 29% prediction seemed to be pretty accurate.

Pretty darn close.  65-30 right now with 97% in.
