If Ilhan Omar were a construction material, what construction material would she be, and would it be used in West Bank settlements?

Theoretically yes, but building settlements with it might be cost prohibitive.

(This thread should be merged, there is an Omar thread on page 1 already.)

There is such a disconnect on how Americans view U.S. combat operations overseas and what actually happens.

The establishment is in bed with the military (and oil companies and big pharma and big business and so on and so on) so the few candidates who are against this stuff either don't get elected OR can't rally other legislators to actually change anything.

THANK ALLAH that Omar and AOC and Bernie are opening some small percentage of the public's eyes to the reality. If the public wakes up, electoral nominees will have to oppose this stuff to get votes. That may never happen, but we should be thankful for any baby steps we can achieve towards tbat goal. Thank you Ilhan. Allah hafiz.

Didn’t every single Justice Dem/JD backed candidate in remotely competitive GE races lose in 2018?

Their endorsed incumbent congressmen + safe D primary winners like Pressley and AOC were their only successes iirc.

That is correct, though the sample size is a bit small. They nominated candidates for 2 competitive races, NE-02 and CA-50, both of which were GOP holds.

LOL at pretending Joe Biden would support segregation and opposes same sex marriage. He endorsed the latter publically even before Obama.

The phrase "dumb as a brick" generally comes to mind.

Biden never supported segregation.  He was part of a wave of young liberals that opposed the Vietnam War when he was elected.

Biden opposed forced school busing solely for the purpose of achieving a court-ordered racial balance.  This is hardly supporting segregation, and the Justice Democrats (many of whom are flat-out liars) know this.

One of those was foolishly triaged and the other fell victim to race-baiting that would've hurt even if the nominee were a perfect Establishment toadie.

Not good examples at all.

Seems as if Omar subscribes to the paranoid fears in some in the white community of the great replacement. (in her case not as if shes too concerned).

btw, is it reasonable to expect an epic primary fight for her seat at some point? Pass the popcorn and pull up a chair for that one.

Because Omar is a scary Muslim woman in a headscarf. If literally any other member of congress besides maybe Tlaib said this no one would care.

What Ms. Omar misses is that the most diverse countries are the most stratified. America has always been at its most egalitarian when it was its most homogeneous.

There is no great replacement. white people are simply killing themselves with drug overdoses and suicide, and not having kids while non-white people aren't doing those things and are having kids. the number of white people isn't going down, it's just that their percentage of the population is and it's partly their own fault. as America gets more and more diverse, racism will become more and more unacceptable until it's basically eradicated, to the extent that it can be in the first place.

Guiadó and the rest of the main leaders of the Roundtable are only free due to perceived threats of action by Trump. While the economic collapse and the resulting protests are purely the fault of the Government’s squandering the good times by not diversifying the economy, along with notorious corruption; the ongoing political struggle and attemptive coup is mostly reigned over by Bolton’s hands.

This is an extremely bigoted sentiment, and it has no place in public discourse. I hope for your sake that you aren't this uncivil when you interact with people of color in real life.

Chavez and Maduro destroyed Venezuela

Only a child or a fool could believe something so simplistic. Have you honestly no grasp of geopolitics, history, sociology, anthropology, or anything of the sort? That sort of narrow thought process is equivalent to believing Venezuela exists within a vacuum; that there is no history prior to Chavez that shaped the country up to and past the point of Chavez's election; and that Chavez and Maduro wielded power and enacted policies without any external factors (be they from rival political groups, powerful opponents within the economic system, and foreign influences that sought to affect Venezuela for particular geopolitical goals). That is not to suggest their policies had no impact on Venezuela; they obviously did. But, their policies were only one part of the story and were shaped largely by their reaction to particular circumstances not of their own creation.

Well, America should just focus on our own country and stay out of others.

Stop helping the world and start telling them to help themselves....

This is the only way to make Illhan eat pie.

Venezuala pre Chavez was far far more prosperous than it is today and was actually a Democracy. Yes their were some problems but maybe you guys should stop blaming America for all of socialism's failures
