She really has no shame, does she. She's firmly in the mainstream of modern liberal thought, though.

As I've said earlier, she should be expelled from the Democratic conference and get primaried in 2020. If not resign before that.

If this is an attack, then a pinch must be a slit to the throat.

Thanks for the 3048574734th Ilhan Omar thread for this month tho

I mean Steve King is pretty bad but I have no clue why Democrats are standing behind her and her blatant anti-Americanism.

Nor do I understand why she is so critical of the country that has given her everything.

Being a solider doesn't make you a hero, but my issue is more with the people who give the orders rather than those who follow them.

She clearly is one of the most hateful Congresspersons alive. She and Steve King need to go...yesterday.

she not only is proving that she is anti-American but proving she is one of the 5 dumbest members of Congress as well .

The sad thing is many of the resident socialists on here along with most of the progressive media will defend these comments which is the scarier part of all this

From your fine article,

Quote
Omar was responding to another tweet about the Battle of Mogadishu, a 1993 humanitarian operation by the U.S. military that sought to save starving Somalis by preventing food and aid from being captured by enemy combatants. The battle ultimately took the lives of 19 American soldiers and wounded 73 others, and it became the subject of the famous Hollywood movie “Black Hawk Down.”

From Wikipedia
Quote
The initial U.S. Joint Special Operations force, Task Force Ranger, was a collaboration of various elite special forces units from Army Special Operations Command, Air Force Special Operations Command and Navy Special Warfare Command; it consisted mostly of members from the 75th Ranger Regiment and Delta Force. Task Force Ranger was dispatched to seize two of Aidid's high-echelon lieutenants during a meeting in the city. The goal of the operation was achieved, though conditions spiraled into the deadly Battle of Mogadishu. The initial operation of 3 October 1993, intended to last an hour, became an overnight standoff and rescue operation extending into the daylight hours of 4 October.

Parse words all you want, but there's enough "near-misses" by Omar when it comes to Anti-American/Anti-Semitic/Pro-Islamist comments that it's starting to resemble a pattern.

Just as I thought people on the left have already started to come out and defend her comments . I mean it’s one thing to defend her but it’s a far different thing to defend her comments

Maybe she stops saying stupid things and the "obsession" will fade away.

Perhaps, she can stop aligning with enemies of democracy. Her comments have continually shown themselves to be creepy and dangerous. She deserves every flack she gets.

This is coming from the same woman who scoffed at 9/11. The selective outrage in her is frightening.

Everything... including death threats for refusing to shut up.

America is a vast thing. Not just in terms of population or geography, but in the scope of ideas we support and things we do as a nation. Some of them are good and some are terrible, and we the citizens disagree about (or aren't even awar of) many of them. Pointing out something specific our nation does in our names isn't anti-American - it's necessary. Everyone should agree on this, conservative s and liberals alike, because how else can we change for the better, whatever we may think that is?

And of all things to get upset about, criticizing the killing of people on one of our failed foreign interventions seems pretty far down any reasonable list, at least to me.

At the very least stripped of any committees that have to do with foreign policy or national security

Why not be more concerned about the blood of living children being slaughtered by guns? Those only get thoughts and prayers and "well we want our guns so it's ok".

The what-aboutism strong here. I'm anti-gun and pro-American...and the likes of Omar being in any committee positions frightens me.

For all news relating to the new Democratic caucus members. All the love, hate, and news relating to these members go here. I will update the title as things progress in her tenure.

Again, the obsession is creepy and dangerous. Nothing she has said warrants death threats and if you believe that then you need to be visited by the police...

I haven't personally sent her death threats, so I'm good. By "flack" I meant "criticism". None of my comments even equate to inciting violence. Calm down; It's a forum.
