Merkley's doing a whopping four day swing through New Hampshire right now:

Yep, the key, major races of NH-GOV, NH legislature and Manchester Mayor, races that will decide the fate of the country! Has to be why Merkley is spending so much time there...

I mean, it is a swing state. And one that could really benefit from even the milquetoast center-left that the current NHDP has on offer in its leadership.

Like seriously, they don't have any broad based taxes and somehow expect to run a 21st century government. WTF?!

Merkley's been running for like at least a year now. When I started getting targeted ads for him on Twitter asking me to donate to him and I live a continent away (and near New Hampshire), I knew.

Here’s this week’s 2020 Insight column:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/14/politics/2020-insight-bernie-sanders-road-trip/index.html

Of note this week:

The NAACP is holding its national convention in San Antonio this week, and Deval Patrick, Tom Steyer, and Julian Castro will all be speaking there.

We also have a bunch of recent non-answers from other potential candidates on their potential presidential runs:

And here’s the latest from Kamala Harris:

NYT on the field's activity. Warren is the most advanced so far, and Biden's encouraging other people to consider running while he hasn't made up his mind.

Well, the story mostly just talks about the “top tier” candidates.  O’Malley might be farther along in planning his run than Warren, for example, but he doesn’t count, for whatever reason.  Sad

Anyway, all of the behind the scenes details continue to indicate that Warren’s public “denials” are fake:

And on Biden:

The story also says that Biden plans to spend four days a week campaigning for Democratic candidates in the midterms between Labor Day and election day.

Bernie the hypocrite attacks other rich people in his third home.

https://babylonbee.com/news/bernie-sanders-rails-greedy-rich-people-third-house/

What does Bernie need 3 homes for?

But then Bernie is good socialist just like Gerhard Schroder who has become an actual agent of Putin’s in selling the gas deal in Germany.

Bernie Sanders was in Eau Claire with Tammy Baldwin. Seems like Bernie Sanders is preparing his run in 2020.

Because "fake news" means a news story which is fictional even if you wish it were true rather than a story which is factual but makes you feel guilty for being a pedophile supporter.

You are just a nasty person.

It is not fake news that Bernie owns three homes.  It is not fake news he is always attacking others for wealth they may have accumulated.  He could spread his socialist views without attacking the personal motives of others.

Listen I understand that Trump could spread his views better if he did not get so personal.

Actually it is fake news that he has three homes. He has two, Jane inherited the "second house" and they sold it to buy a closer vacation house. But earning a public salary probably should put you in the top 1% anyways. He's helping to run the country and isn't stealing the value of anyone's labor (except to the extent to which anyone with investment in stocks is, but that's a longer story).

Medical professionals that save lives will be highly compensated in any just society. Our leaders should be highly compensated, not least because not compensating them leaves leadership to the leisure class. Everyone should be able to afford to go on vacation. Investors should not exist as a class. These are not inconsistent positions.

Unlike, say, supporting "family values" by rooting for a sexual predator.

I may be a Republican, but if Heinrich changes his mind and mounts a run, he might persuade me yet.

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh disavowed Trump for "the final time" today on Twitter; ending a rocky relationship between the two.

"Look, I'm no big deal, but today is the final straw for me. I will never support Trump again. If that makes me a NeverTrumper, so be it. I am a tea party conservative, that will never change. But Trump was a traitor to this country today. That must not be accepted. Speak out."

Possible Libertarian/Independent candidate, or even a primary challenger to Trump?

Bernie’s actually the poorest member of the Senate.

Weld/Campbell could be the ticket imo. But he could. I think David Jolly primaries Trump though.

I may be a Republican, but if Heinrich changes his mind and mounts a run, he might persuade me yet.

There hasn’t been but honestly I’d vote for Heinrich.

While I do really like Heinrich and I would definitely like for him to run, I wonder what would make you vote for him, as a republican? He seems like a pretty standard center-left democrat. Is it his sheer handsomeness?

The Andrew Cuomo gubernatorial campaign illegally acquired the personal information of students who registered for New York's Excelsior scholarship program, in another chapter of Cuomo's long history with corruption.

I read the NY post article, it doesnt seem like something to get worked up about.

I'm sorry but it is something to get worked up about, and if he were an honorable man (which he isn't) he'd drop out of this year's Governor's race.
