I don't get why Knowles doesn't run. He would win easily and set himself up for a rematch against Lisa Murkowski in 2010!

It seems to me that Knowles is pretty much assured of the Democratic nomination. The only question is whether Murkowski is unpopular enough to lose the Republican nom, but judging by the opposition it doesn't seem likely. They look seriously light-weight to me.

Also, I find it pretty cool that Knowles managed to win an open seat in Alaska in 1994! That's pretty impressive.
