No there was a former state senator from Illinois who didn't know military terms and took a 3 week European tour to apologize for the U.S.

The United States has survived a british invasion during the war of 1812, civil war, great depression, world war II, social upheavals of the 60's, stagflation and malaise of the late 70's, and 9/11. It's going to survive a Trump presidency. Stop being so pessimistic about our country.

And, of course, the US has never elected anybody like Trump to presidency. Trump is a clear and present danger to all of us.

We've elected worse people - Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, and Woodrow Wilson among them.

Andrew Johnson wasnt elected though. And none of then had nuclear weaponry, and all od them at least had experience of government before taking the role.

No there was a former state senator from Illinois who didn't know military terms and took a 3 week European tour to apologize for the U.S.

So in other words, he knew enough about foreign policy to be diplomatic about his nation's previous transgressions and take advice were his own personal experience was lacking. WHAT A LOSER AMIRITE

The thing is, though Trump is of course extremely ignorant of foreign policy, he isn't the first candidate to be thrust in that position. Plenty of green politicians and state level guys have been forced into a world completely alien to their experiences. The difference is, of course, is that Trump has no intellectual curiosity or depth. His statements against the international order are not critiques or even emotional pleas. They're just random statements, changing from day to day.
