Per the census, only six Fremonters are registered as Paxists including the inactive Siren.  My suggestion would be to allow non-Fremonters to vote, especially if we can't get at least five people to vote.

That would work.  I'm game if Galaxie wants to run - don't want to look as though I'm chasing people out of the race. Tongue

Officially, the primary will open at midnight ET on Friday between Galaxie and Scott.

I'll motion to retroactively change the bylaws thereafter since voting on two things at once would be confusing.

Since the vacancy occurred on Wednesday, doesn't the actual election have to take place this Friday, or was this rule changed?

Considering the filling deadline would have been 24 hours before that, that'd be a bit unfair to say the least.

When Peebs, OneJ, and myself all ran for House of Reps we got a blanket 3-way endorsement, IIRC, and we chose to endorse other people for 4th preference. A primary vote would be fun and cool, but wouldn't the logical thing be to just endorse both of them?

Primary ballot starts midnight. Ends when a winner clinches a majority of Fremonters or 72 hours, whatever happens first. Non-Fremonter votes will only count in the event of a 3-3 tie. Loser will be asked to drop out.

Next convention (which I will open soon) will be in Asheville, NC. Also need to change the by-laws so the primary back in December retroactively is legal.

Reasoning behind the changes:

-Making primaries (but not endorsement votes) regional (reason should be obvious - we can change if emergency situation arises)

-Making it so everyone who requests an endorsement vote gets one (just makes things simpler)

-Setting a 72 hour notice period for registrations to prevent hijacking.
