Maybe the best of both worlds would have been if Romney didn’t run in 2012, Obama defeated Gingrich or Santorum in 2012, and then Romney ran in 2016 as an “electable” candidate and won the 2016 nomination.

There is no such thing as an election "we should have lost"

There is no way to know before hand. Besides, I thought being hired for a job meant doing you best. Anyone with a lick of compentence should have been able to prevent the worst

I respect and admire Jimmy Carter. But he made a lot of mistakes. He could have been re-elected in 1980, its not impossible.

The government should have acted faster when the housing bubble got too big. Warning signs were coming as early as 2005
